On ira manger une glace à la vanille

Today was actually pretty fun for a miserable, rainy day - these kind of days usual put me in a super bad mood. I took the train into town for the first time in a week; it wasn't too bad I suppose. I didn't need to fight off rude passengers with no manners to get a seat and the ticket man was almost pleasant. Worked on the 5 key points in history which changed corsetry first thing, but really just cleaned out my bag, it was so disgusting!
The remainder of the day was basically spent constructing a horribly exaggerated bust onto an A2 drawing and talking to my darling Hetty who I'd really been missing in the morning - I had to make the Starbucks run alone and there was no-one to share my mooli! But I'm over it.
I phoned the Oxford Street Topshop to see if they had the skirt that I've been pining over, luckily they did. Unfortunately they don't deliver, slightly ridiculous but whatever. I took the stock number and ordered it in the local store, I should get it on the 4th. Awess.
Tonight I had a singing lesson which was ok and then I picked up ma copine, Isla. We decided to go into town and went to McDonalds. I don't know what's come over me recently but I've totally been craving some of their chips and ice cream. I think I've got it out of my system and now I feel a bit gross but the mess people make in there alone is enough to put me off. We went to the 24-hour ASDA, my 2nd time in two nights since Saturday's failed attempt. I'm not entirely sure what I had been expecting but the banter just wasn't flowing. It's boring and I don't really get why people would choose to shop at that time. What I find even more disturbing is the fact that I saw two girls who looked about 9 eating chocolate and playing on the escalators in their school uniforms at midnight. Tragique.
I should probably get on with some college work tomorrow, but hopefully something more fun will come along!

The giant mirrored Armadillo outside Goode's Armadillo Palace.

The Venison Chilli I had, this was as much as I ate - the large portions are really daunting! The rest came home for my brother's lunch.
It's totally Texan, the food is really good and the staff were friendly.

This is the inside of a cute little cupcake shop on Shepherd called Sugar Baby's. It was so sweet and pink and pretty. You could buy loads of cute cupcakes and mini cheesecakes as well as little trinkets and little things for the home.
You should check them out.

The most beautiful of the cakes we tried.

There were three limited edition Barbie prints in the bathroom, I think that this was probably my favourite.

I thought that this was a little crazy and super cool, so I really had to include it. It's an iPod vending machine; it also sold cameras and chargers and headphones. Plenty of weird things you would not expect to just literally fall into your hand. It would make it way too easy to make impulse airport purchases - but really I suppose that is the point.

Beep beep'm beep beep yeah

I was super happy when last Thursday afternoon, after a year and a month of being 17, 8 months of learning and one failed test, I finally passed my driving test! I was so excited; I've wanted to drive ever since I was a little girl. Like really little, and I'm pretty sure that's a strange thing for 4 year old girls to obsess over!
Anyway, Friday was a lovely, sunny day and I decided to drive into town for college. There were so many lorries on the road that morning, it was a little daunting but thankfully I managed to make it safely. I picked up some cupcakes and then Hetty from college and we made our way to Starbucks for the regular 2 skinny, sugar-free hazelnut, wet lattes and then to get some mooli to share. We thought that since we had the means to, we should enjoy out lunch in a more scenic location than Marks and Spencer so we made our way down to the beach. It was so nice and warm and we blasted Girls Aloud like it was summer!
After this leisurely lunch it didn't really make sense to go back for life drawing and we hadn't really checked out the shops at all that week, our lecturer would surely understand.
It seemed as though everything was going great, but then when taking Jenna to her sister's house a guy bumped into the back of me at a roundabout. I pretty much didn't know what to do and was about to just drive home and face the consequences avec mon pere when J got out of the car and took charge. Such a relief! It wasn't even my fault, he hadn't left enough room. But I'm over it.
Saturday I had work and then went to Jenny's 18th, I drove and so decided that Ribena would probably be a more appropriate beverage than the usual gin for this occasion! I had a pretty little outfit on -semi pictured - and the party was a really fun one.

You can't see, but I was also wearing a high-waisted, flippy denim mini, opaques and low-heeled, cream patent heels with gold links at the toe. They're beautiful.

Everyone was heading to Diva's but Swanny, Gavin and Dave managed to persuade me to drive to the 24-hour ADSA several miles away beforehand; I made them listen to the Legally Blonde the Musical soundtrack and when we got to the supermarket it was closed. Banter over. 24 hour? Yeah, but only on weekdays. Mon Dieu!
Sunday at work was totally awess! I spent the day making floral bridal hairpieces as part of a whole store wedding day promotion. I was right next to the door and the closest to sun I had been since Friday. Jenna braved the dirty looks of her former co-workers to talk to me but stood next to the door so as to make a quick getaway if it came to that. Luckily, it didn't.
Today I woke up and literally could not face going to college. I've spent the last 2 month doing absolutely no work and today, when I had to had in lots of work, this would have become very apparent to my lecturers! Instead I did some drawing at home to try and catch up.
Tomorrow is the John Lewis AGP, sort of like an AGM but apparently the P stands for Party. Hot.

Ou est la!?

Coveting:

The skirt version of this dress. It was supposed to be on the Topshop website at 6am on Tuesday, but I was there, and it wasn't! It'd just be so flouncy and pretty and it's only £45. I really must!

Easter Parade - Obama supporter walking up the street yelling "I want attention, please give me attention!". Loved it.

I loved this sign. I walked up the street and then came back, because I thought it was too funny to miss.

Grr!

Sitting in an unfamiliar salon in Glasgow, one can assume that I'm suitably shocked to find that my hair is so bleached and so little of my natural colour remains that it is impossible to put anything darker on now. I hate being here; it's nice and everything but I've been going to the same hairdressers since I was 11 and now I'm completely useless at understanding common protocol! Will they hate me for my lack of conversation? Will they think I'm rude? How do I tip? The poor condition, and now the cut of my hair have been slated and I'm feeling terribly self-concious!

Also, after the huge excitement of going on holiday last month I feel like I now have nothing to look forward to for ages! Of course there are always parties but it's not exactly the same as the build up to a huge vacation! I wish my day to day life was more fun and exciting! I wish I could wear dresses and wayfarers everyday without having to worry about the impracticality. I wish I could eat cake everyday and buy all of New Look's new limited edition range. I wish I was in Antibes! And right now I wish that hairdressers had better taste in music! Kill me!

I Heart NY

Paris has found it's rival, I may need to buy more than one property in my future. I don't think I could go through my life without living in Manhattan!

5 Reasons I'm in love:

Une - The Starbucks' there have more than two sugar-free flavours of coffee syrup.
You can learn a surprising amount just by reading the back of the cups!
The selection of cakes is lovely, and the stores are at most 4 minutes apart.

Deux - People just understand beautiful things; I loved walking down a random street to find an old bike covered in live flowers.

Trois - The skyline.

Quatre - Chinatown. Got this made for $20, including the belt.

Cinq - MoMA. Home to Warhol's Marilyns and set over six floors, I could have spent all day in here.
